It’s the little things in life, right? That feeling you get when you’re in a rush to take out the garbage because you already can hear your trash removal service coming down the street. Or the umpteenth time that something has fallen behind your infamous kitchen junk drawer, due to overstuffing, underorganizing and, dare we say, a tad bit of hoarding?! And, yes, even how your iPhone battery dies just as you’re about to Instagram those last few pics of your epic weekend.

1. To avoid that “I’m pulling as hard as I can and this bag isn’t budging” feeling that sometimes comes when there’s just a bit too much stuffed in your garbage can, drill a small hole in the bottom of the can to relieve the pressure.

2. Can’t seem to keep slender areas, like windowsills or that annoying space between your sliding glass door and screen door, free from debris? Take an empty toilet paper roll and attach it to the bottom of your vacuum’s hose. Those TP rolls are bendable, so they’ll squish down to clean even the smallest spaces!

3. Want to make summer sweetness last a little longer? Use a 1:3 ratio of vinegar to water to rinse fresh fruits like strawberries before storing them. Thoroughly dry them off and you’ll kill the bacteria that make them mold so quickly.

4. If you ever need to clear a clogged drain in a pinch, try Alka Seltzer or vinegar instead of rushing to the store to pick up some Liquid Plumr. Those common household items may be all you need to get things moving.

5. Wrestling with a stripped screw? Separate the screw from your screw driver by placing a rubber band between the two. That band could give the extra grip you need!

6. We’re all trying to be a little greener, right? Reduce your waste by reusing a milk jug to water your garden. Turn an empty jug into an instant watering can by drilling a few holes in the cap. Replace the cap to slowly shower your plants!

7. If you’re not happy with the size of your closets, make more space by utilizing the backs of your closet doors! A simple rack in the pantry can neatly and conveniently store spices. A couple hooks in bedroom closets can take care of purses, scarves, hats and more!

9. Always wanted a second row in your closet? Soda can tabs easily can double closet space. Simply hook a tab over one hanger and attach another. You’ll be using almost the same amount of space to hang two items!

10. Is your underwear or intimate things drawer looking a little… well, unmentionable?! Give it a little shape by adding some old shoe boxes to separate underthings. You’ll never have to search for that “favorite pair” again.

11. Who doesn’t have a kitchen junk drawer where things seem to go to disappear? Stop losing everything there by sliding a muffin tin inside. You’ll instantly organize your junk and never stick your finger again on that hotel sewing kit you refuse to throw out!
