PITTSBURGH, PA. – Southwestern Pennsylvania’s leading real estate company, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty is launching Pathways to Health for all employees.  This free, online fitness series will feature yoga taught by one of our very own realtors, Christi Fredrick.  

 

While Pathways classes are usually intended to teach real estate related skills, keeping the employees safe, healthy and positive during this time was a big reason the company decided to bring yoga into the already established courses.  Pathways to Health is Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty’s newest Pathways training course. This course is an extension of our training courses that are hosted on Zoom. Launching Monday at 6:00 P.M., one of our own Realtors from the Upper St. Clair Office will be hosting a live yoga class for all ages and ability levels.  

 

Since going virtual, the company has made many changes and modifications to keep employees healthy and happy.  “Free access to health and fitness classes is something we have hoped to achieve since we went virtual”, said Tom Hosack, President and CEO.  “Our mission is to create and support a community, and it's vital that we give our employees the mental and physical support they need at this time”, Hosack said.  

 

The classes will now be held three times a week and will be a great way for employees to get a much-needed break and clear their minds.  Christi Fredrick, Yoga instructor and Realtor, is excited to take on these new classes. “Yoga is a great way to gain a sense of community, and is extremely important for not only physical health, but mental health during this time”, said Fredrick.  “I am thrilled to take on this new challenge of teaching online yoga and bring the practice to all of my colleagues”.  

 

The Pathways to Health classes are designed for our employees to get a good stretch in and ease some quarantine tension.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty Will Host Live Virtual Open Houses This Weekend

PITTSBURGH, PA. – Southwestern Pennsylvania’s leading real estate company, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty is hosting Live Virtual Open Houses this Sunday, May 3.  

 

Due to the circumstances presented by COVID-19, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty has had to shift from the norm and think outside the box on how to hold open houses safely.  Live Virtual Open Houses, held on a Zoom Conference became the solution to our usual Open House Spectacular Weekends.  While real estate sales have been on a bit of a hold, “We realized there was still a demand to buy and sell homes during this time”, said Tom Hosack, President and CEO.  “We took a look at our analytics and saw a spike in local web traffic and the time spent on our website.  We took this as an opportunity to give these homes more visibility to the public”, said Hosack.  

 

The difference between the Live Virtual Open House and a regular video tour around a house is this weekend’s event will be happening live in real-time. We have spent the last week coaching our sellers through the process of shooting a live video where interested buyers will be watching online. The agent will not only be hosting the interactive tour from the agent's home, but will be providing valuable information and insight as well as answering questions that the interested buyers may have.  The company was an early adopter of Zoom Technology, using it for training for three years.   This made the transition for open houses run smoothly.  

 

Countless hours of hard work were put in by the Agents to make their clients comfortable with the Zoom technology and the Marketing and Tech Departments to help agents make these Virtual Open Houses possible.  This weekend, the company is expected to hold 70 open houses in Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Deb Arrisher, VP of Marketing, commented on the event.  “Our ultimate goal is to reassure sellers that they can still market their homes during this unprecedented time.  We don’t know how long stay at home orders will last but we are doing everything we can to facilitate the home buying and selling process”, said Arrisher.

PITTSBURGH, PA. – Southwestern Pennsylvania’s leading real estate company, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty has partnered with Adrian’s Pizza of North Hills to support healthcare workers at UPMC Passavant Hospital fighting the Coronavirus Pandemic.  

 

During this challenging and uncertain time, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices The Preferred Realty’s corporate office, located in Wexford, wanted to give back to the healthcare community that is working around the clock to battle COVID-19.  The goal was to raise money that could be used to help feed the UPMC Healthcare workers.  Jon Faulkner,  franchise owner of Adrian’s Pizza, agreed to help give back and match a portion of the donations.  

 

Mikaela Minich, a BHHS employee who spearheaded the idea, faced some challenges when working with Adrian’s Pizza to feed healthcare workers. When looking at the logistics of delivering the pizzas, “Passavant started to restrict all food coming into the building. The only way to get our pizza delivered was to have the slices individually wrapped, which was nearly impossible to do. So, we worked with Jon, looked at his menu and found that delivering personal pans was an option and that spreading out the delivery drop off made it possible to serve as many employees as possible with nothing going to waste”, Minich said.   

 

The original goal of donations was greatly surpassed, in addition to the pizzas that Adrian’s was able to match.  The Preferred Realty was able to deliver 360 personal pan pizzas to UPMC Passavant employees.

Kovack Realtors was founded in 1981 by Darlene Kovack in Wadsworth, Ohio.  Kovack's company grew at a rapid pace, becoming one of the top brokerages in Ohio.  In 1986, Michele Kovack Boyd returned to Ohio to assist in the family business. Since 1996, Boyd has led the company.  She serves as a Director on the Medina County Board of Realtors, is a licensed Continuing Education Provider in the state of Ohio and has a total of 37 agents in her offices. “Joining forces with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services was a natural progression for Kovack Realtors.  We already love the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices name, and can grow even more with the local support of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services,” said Boyd.  Boyd will continue in her role as a managing broker in the office. Local clientele can expect a seamless experience as the new branding is unveiled.
